Dubai Villa Community – Travertine Terraces and Pools

In a community of 86 villas in Dubai, Denizli Classic travertine was used on all terraces, pool surrounds and garden paths, with Noce travertine for accent areas. Surface heating at high temperatures and slipperiness were the project's key requirements.

Project summary

• Brushed, unfilled finish (PTV 55+); surface temperature averages 6°C lower than marble
• Pool-edge slabs: 5 cm, half-bullnose profile
• Four patterns by villa type: French pattern and 60x60
• Impregnator applied for salt and chlorine resistance
• 26,000 m², 52 containers, six-stage shipment

The project manager documented that the travertine surface temperature around pools did not exceed 48°C in the afternoon. A care and re-impregnation guide for all villas was prepared after delivery.

Result

When the villas were handed over no heating or slipping complaints were received around the pools in the first summer. Project management named Petrova principal supplier for the next 120-villa project as well.
