About Us

Petrova Doğal Taş grew out of a small marble workshop founded in İscehisar, Afyonkarahisar, in 1989 by Hasan Hüsnü Kurtbay. For its first years it sold blocks only; in 1998 it commissioned its first slab plant and in 2007 its travertine plant in Denizli. Since 2012 exports have made up 78% of total sales; today we reach project customers in 58 countries.

Traceability from quarry to plant

Each block is numbered at the quarry, photographed and graded for vein direction, colour tone and crack condition. In the plant this number is carried over to the slabs, so slabs from the same block ship in the same bundle and no tone variation appears in the project. On request the customer can access quarry photos and test reports by block number.

Environment and quarry rehabilitation

A post-operation rehabilitation plan is applied in quarry areas, and finished sites are reforested. In the plants 92% of cutting water is treated and reused, and marble dust is supplied to the cement and filler industries.
