Baku Office Tower Lobby and Façade

The lobby of a 28-floor office tower in Baku, Azerbaijan, was clad in polished Tuna Siyahı granite, with the entrance plaza and façade base in flamed finish. Because of the windy climate the façade slabs were designed at 3 cm thickness with stainless steel anchors.

Project summary

• Lobby: 2 cm polished, 80x80 cm; reception desk in a single piece
• Entrance plaza: 3 cm flamed finish, PTV 62
• Façade base: 3 cm, ventilated façade system, grade-316 anchors
• Wind-load calculation and anchor pull-out tests carried out on site
• Delivery: 6 containers, İzmir – Poti – Baku

Because the granite blocks were selected from the same quarry and vein direction, colour continuity was kept across the whole lobby. The project was completed three weeks ahead of the main contractor's schedule.

Result

The tower received LEED Gold certification at the end of 2025; the certified natural stone material helped the score. Petrova presented the anchor pull-out test results to the contractor as a report.
