Kara Kül Basalt

Basalt from Manisa: dense, dark grey-black and a high-slip-resistance exterior stone.

Kara Kül is a dense, dark grey-black basalt from the Kula region of Manisa.

Appearance and origin

Volcanic in origin, basalt is very hard and heavy, with compressive strength reaching 200 MPa. Its flamed surface is slip-resistant and safe even in winter conditions. It is the choice for city squares, pavements and modern landscape design.

Technical values

  • Density: 2,950 kg/m³
  • Water absorption: 0.2%
  • Compressive strength: 210 MPa
  • Flexural strength: 25 MPa
  • Standard slab size: 250 x 120 cm (±10 cm)

Areas of use

Square, pedestrian street and pavement paving, landscape elements, façades and floors. Frost resistance and abrasion resistance are very high.

Finish and export

A flamed-and-brushed finish reaches PTV 70+; 5 cm slabs suit areas with heavy loads. Quarry: Manisa (contracted partner quarry, processed and quality-controlled at Petrova). FOB İzmir price starts at 33 USD/m² for 2 cm grade-A slabs and varies with thickness, grade and quantity. A technical sheet and a sample tile are sent on request.
